Moving on up...

I recently had the opportunity to attend a private MAC class with Senior Artist Tiffany Johnston. I learned a lot about makeup, trends and techniques that day but I took away something from that class I am not sure any of the other attendees might have caught. Tiffany was speaking about what it is like to work backstage at fashion week and shared the following... (and Tiffany, if you somehow come across this I apologize if I am not quoting you word for word!)
 "When I first started in this business, it was very selective of who was able to go backstage. Nowadays, you can have a blogger from Austin standing next to the editor of Vogue! Bloggers are important. Vogue is only going to reach vogue readers, but bloggers reach all kinds of people. They are taking information right back to the consumer, the most important part."
 As an aspiring hairstylist and a blogger I found that extremely encouraging and I thought some of you might too, especially you darling little fashion bloggers. Hope it helps you feel important in this big ol blogging world!
 And if you ever get the chance to attend an event with Tiffany, jump on it! She is a great speaker, smart, beautiful and super talented. I am so grateful I am attending a school that makes these sort of opportunities available for me!

In case you were wondering...

I am sure no one is waiting with baited breathe for my blog to pick back up again, but in case you were wondering what I have been up to, here is where I have been spending all my time and who I have been spending it with... I am exhausted, I miss quality time with my husband and my feet hurt at the end of every day, but just a few months in and I am enjoying this experience more than anything I have ever done. Every day is a reassurance that I made the right decision and that feels really good. Plus, do you see those people up there? They are amazing and I get to hang out with them all day! So now I am sure you are intrigued. Check this out and come see me!

Today is a Good Friday...

The weather has started to heat up which means this is about the time my disdain for Arizona starts to surface and I begin to dread the upcoming scorching months of summer. It's also about the time I start to miss living in California and those lovely 75 degree days... Today the office was closed in observance of Good Friday, which left me with a much needed day off with absolutely no plans to worry about. I slept in, watched a little TV and then met my man for a lunch date. The weather today just happened to be perfect. We came home, put on some music, opened the back door and windows and actually felt a breeze. When I closed my eyes, it almost felt like I was back in California. Perfect weather and perfect thoughts to take a little nap too. So today was a good Friday, and I am hoping its just the start to a great weekend. Happy Easter Everyone!
