I don't typically follow the path of the shimmer and shine but this subtle yet- statement making "galaxy" bag from jcrew has got me changing my direction.
Introducing...
Mr. Murphy Bean Kim !!!

We are proud to announce our family is now equal parts skins and furs!
Murphy, is just shy of five months and is half yorkie half poodle. He is mostly black with only a patch of white on his chest and a few white hairs around his chin and we just love him!
Sal and Murphy became instant friends and after a few days of Sal laying down the law and showing him the ropes, they are now life long brothers who wrestle all the time!
Welcome to the family Murph!

* seen while driving through L.A. - hahahaha
This weekend I drove to California (Yep! all by my self, with my sisters and g-ma in tow) to help my sister-in-law Debbie find a place to live in L.A. since she will be relocating for her new job. Our days were jam packed with appointmets and we found a few good ones so I cannot wait to see what they choose! And I am excited to come visit once they settle in and explore the city of angels!
We were able to spend some time with friends and I got to see that adorable butter-ball Liela for a quick visit and load her up with a million kisses and hugs. Overall, a great weekend but I am beat! I think I will use this week to get our house cleaned and organized, try and complete a few projects and get back on track with my workout schedule. Wish me luck, all I can think about right now is going home, playing with puppies and sleeping!

Three years ago today, you went home. I knew it instantly when we got the call. My heart stopped, and it has just never felt the same. Sometimes when I think about you I just smile and laugh, when I think about your silly stories and that smirk on your face. Sometimes when I think about you I just cry, especially when it gets hard to hear your voice. Sometimes I see you in my dreams, and I try to stay asleep as long as I can. Sometimes no matter how hard I try not to, I have to ask why.
But three years ago today, he took you home. Right where you are supposed to be.
I love you Matty.

Farewell Frankie

TK has been trying to talk me into getting a second dog so that Sal could have a playmate while we are off all day working hard for the kibbles & bits.
Sal can be rather needy. He wants a specific blanket on the floor next to our bed to sleep on, or if he decides he needs to sleep on top of me, I cannot make one move or he gets upset and lets out a long sigh. He needs a cup of water in the bathroom for his late night need to quench his thirst and his treats must be cut up in little pieces or he will not eat. He also can be rather jealous. When my lovely lil' Liela is visiting and I have her in my arms... Sal actually lifts his paws and cries for me to hold him.
Maybe my insistent need to kiss and hug him and tell him he is the cutest pup to ever live has made him this way? Or he just really loves me :)
Anyhow, I have been apprehensive to the 2nd pup idea. Mostly, because I do not want Sal to feel jealous or feel like I love him any less.
Hello, I am Brianna. I am obsessed with my Dog.
TK begged and pleaded, made some cute faces, did a little jig and finally talked me into attending a Pet Expo this weekend where they were conveniently holding pet adoptions.
We walked from booth to booth, but no dog seemed to fit our requirements.
Requirements- aside from being adorable
-Must be Sal's size or smaller
-Must be hypoallergenic (aka-no shedding)
-Must be playful and active
We rounded the last row, when our eyes met with this adorable white and overly fluffy poodle mix. His face was darling and we stood and stared with smiles. We got the info.
Frankie. 8 months old. Poodle/Bichon mix. 12-15lbs. cutest little nose.
It was made known that Frankie has a "slight" neurological disorder that makes him randomly turn in circles and hop on occasion. I took that as some added character!
We let the boys sniff each other out and they seemed to get along pretty well. We really liked Frankie but I was still on the fence. We walked away to discuss.
We went back and forth, with livi my little sister in the background trying to guilt trip us by exclaiming "You are saving a life!" , over and over again. Tk ultimately decided we needed to take another look at Frankie. I was not a fan of the idea. I knew once I saw him again he would be coming home with us. Fifteen minutes later, we were loading up the car with two pups in tow.

* Here is where I considered turning this into a two-part post but decided against it. If this is too much to read, you can stop here , read the rest tomorrow and turn it into a two part post yourself :)
We headed to my parent's house to show Frankie off. He played with Sal a bit, got pretty excited and started banging into all the furniture. He did not seem to have a very strong depth perception.
We brought him home and Sal was excited to play! He ran around the backyard as fast as he could so he could show Frankie what he had to offer but Frankie was less than interested. This pup seemed to have an interesting personality. He definitely liked to go in circles, as previously mentioned, but he also seemed to have trouble walking straight and his front legs often criss-crossed. Frankie seemed to go through one cycle of behaviors the rest of the night.
Sleep, Wander, Go crazy, hop around and bite everything and everyone in sight. Repeat.
His biting was a bit intense. He was going at Livi pretty good, which I am sure he knew no difference and just wanted to play, but he was biting her just a little too much that she started to get scared. We tried a number of things to calm Frankie down when he got into this stage in his cycle but nothing seemed to work other than literally, pinning him down on the ground. OF COURSE , without any harm to him.
Sal made multiple attempts to play with Frankie but ultimately, I think he actually started to scare Sal and he spent much of the night hiding behind me or in my lap. Although, Frankie was not to large, he was quite hard to handle and TK was the only who could really seem to control him.
Of course, we took into consideration that any new member to the family would need time to adjust, but I have been around many, many dogs in my life and it appeared that Frankie might have a bit more of an issue with his puppy brain than we knew. We realized that we were not going to be able to leave him alone all day with Sal (not to mention the furniture). It was such a tough choice to make but we knew we just simply did not have the time to dedicate to training a dog with special needs and we decided to return him to the shelter. It appeared that even if we could teach Frankie to settle down and get him feeling more comfortable, he still did not posses the energy or ability to really be the playmate we need for Sal. I felt terrible. Tim returned him on Sunday, but I stayed home because I did not want to ball like a baby at the shelter.
I am an avid dog lover and it just broke my heart to have to take him back, but we wanted to do what was best for Frankie. Thankfully!!! the shelter Frankie came from has a strict no kill policy and he will never be euthanized. We are crossing our fingers Frankie finds a home where he can receive all the love and special attention he needs.

Dior Duo
Thursday, June 10, 2010
A bonafide four-eyes since the second grade, I have stood in the optometrist office for hours at a time searching for that perfect necessary accesory, that would not only enable my eyes to see but would, with high hopes, compliment my face in some way. As I was admiring my hunk of a husband, I stumbled upon these beauties:

I was just about to reach for my credit card when I noticed the price. I mentally subtracted one digit from that figure and kept reaching, but then my conscience kicked in, so I instead looked in the mirror for another ten minutes and put them back. I love the tortoise shell print and how big and nerdy they are. Plus, how cute would the hubs and I be in matching Dior specs? I am aware that his small Korean eyes provide him with perfect vision but I would insist he wear them everyday for spontaneous and stylish photo ops.
I have not put this purchase completely out of the relm of possibility since this year I need to purchase a new pair of glasses anyhow and I use my glasses everyday, which would make them well worth the money. I will however, act as a responsible financial steward and research other options at a more affordable price. Yep. I will.
*Bonus: Tk thinks I look so cute in them he made this picture his blackberry wallpaper...Aww.

We are back from our weekend trip to Vegas with our besties, Ryan and
Debbie
We are pooped, beat, worn out...and in need of sleep.
Pictures will come later, but for now you can view my sexy piece of Korea trying on a studly pair of glasses at the Dior store in Ceasar's
Sort of makes me wish he had less than 20/20 vision so I could see this everyday.

My Long Long weekend was much needed and I am back at work today feeling refreshed, less stressed and ready for VEGAS! on friday.
On top of my already memorial day extended weekend I took a half day on thursday and skipped work on friday.
Thursday: I watched my my sister Kalea graduate from high shchool. It was special and she looked soooo happy after...but now she must find a job ha!
This same day I also received a phone call from my lovely sis-in-law Debbie informing me that because she is way more awesome and makes scrubs looks way cuter than other nursing students she was offered a very coveted job at the infamous Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills!
(Just to be clear Debbie just said " I got the job!" because she is not full of herself. I added the extra, but true comments.)
Friday: I did pretty much nothing all day. I did not get dressed until about five in the evening and that is exactly what I took the day off for. I laid around all day admiring my adorable niece and I could not think of anything better to do.
I know after looking at this picture you totally understand.
Later that evening we had a lovely dinner, just our immediate family which rarely happens, to celebrate my sister's accomplishment. My poor brother had to miss Kalea's graduation because of work and unfortunately was stuck in so much traffic on friday due to an unbelievable series of accidents that it took him ten hours to get from CA to AZ and missed the dinner as well :(
Saturday: this was one full day! Some of our family from CA had come to town for the graduation and were staying with my parents so my dad made breakfast for us all! We took Liela swimming for the first time and, well, we all passed out from her cuteness and fell in the pool. It was a blast and around two we cleaned up and headed over to my cousin Keelie's grad party and had some good ol' grub!
Sunday: We woke up with heavy hearts because Kyle, Brit and Liela had to return home. They packed up their things from my house and we headed to my moms for a short breakfast. We smothered the babes in kisses and hugs and waved them off. The visit was of course too short. Now the countdown begins till we see her next month when we travel to CA to watch our darling addition be dedicated to the Lord.
We took the girls to a late showing of Prince of Persia and went directly to bed when we got home.
Monday: TK, Sallypoods and myself laid around all morning. I did more laying than anyone I think. By the time I woke TK had already taken Sal for a walk to the dog park and made me breakfast :) We finally gathered ourselves around 3 and did some light shopping. We ate at this new place TK has been dying to try. China Magic Noodle. He loved it, I was less than thrilled.
We rented the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and turned it off less than half way through because it was so boring Tim was dozing off and I was just messing around with my blackberry.
I showered and slept a good sleep, all night long.
It was nice to just relax and take some real time off. We always try and squeeze in a trip somewhere on these long weekends but this time I think we both needed a break and we certainly got it.
