My weekend in an Instax...

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

I realize I have been slacking on my weekend posts, but my weekends have been filled with non-worthy posting material. One weekend missed I am attempting to completely block from my memory. Let it be known.. House Guests do not always equal a good time.
Other weekends (did I miss that many?) most likely consisted of sleeping in, playing with pups and watching TV. No one needs an instax of that. But if you really feel you won't be complete without it contact me and I suppose I will force myself to be lazy once again for your photo satisfying needs =)

Fortunately for us, we were able to spend the last weekend of Summer with our besties (and family!), Ryan and Debbie. Let it be known...these are my all time favorite house guests =)

Note: I do intend to use a whole load of =) through this post. If you want, you can guess right now how many I will use, count them up at the end and if you were right I will send you a prize.
Running total= 2
Guess now!

Weekends with your besties are the best, don't you agree? No one minds if you rip one during a movie because they are sensitive to your troubles with gas. You don't have to worry about keeping the house super tidy because they know you probably threw everything in the closet just before they arrived. And you certainly do not have to feel embarrassed about being in the bathroom for too long because they understand, everybody poops =)

Brianna, were there not supposed to be pictures in this post?
Ah yes! Thank you for your patience, you are too kind =)

The Patterson's arrived very early early Friday morning. We were not the only ones thrilled to have them visiting.. as you can see the pups made them one of their own.

The men got straight to business...

And because straight shots of liquor were just not enough we visited Lee's Cream Liqueur where they make ice cream with the booze right in it =)
We tried some interesting flavors like Jack Daniels chocolate swirl and Margarita. I think the place was just ok. Plus, the lady helping us was just a bit strange. None of us could figure out if she was happy we were there. Maybe she has an alcohol problem and wants the ice cream all to herself?

Throughout the weekend the men played basketball, Debbie went swimming as I watched, we played some games, watched The Town (excellent! Ben, you break my heart), watched McGrubber (seriously, dumb), ate some giant burritos made by mi madre, and just spent quality time together =)

We love you Ryan and Debbie! Thanks so much for visiting in 106 degree weather, your the best(ies) =)

But Brianna, why is Ryan the only one featured in every photo?

Well, he is seriously so in to himself.

Wow

I know,right?
=) equals 7. Who won?

Hey little piggie...

If you read the title of this post and thought "is she quoting the Jonas Brothers?" then you were correct and you cannot make fun of my because you clearly know their body of work as well.

An evening with Nick, Kevin,Joe and thousands of "tween" girls declaring their love through the highest pitched screams imaginable...my ideal night? Not really.

But the smiles below made it all worth it.

I feel honored to be the one to take my sisters to their very first concert... and I will proudly say I got down with them big time during burnin up. You could not hold us down.
Big shout out to TK for sucking it up and escorting us ladies to the show. Good looking out kid.

You just look square. Underneath it all, I think you're really hep...

I almost squealed in my office when I opened today's edition of WHOWHATWEARdaily.

Cry-Baby has been my all time favorite movie since I was a kid.
(Yes, my mother let me watch this as a child. Don't judge)
Oh brother, who does not love vintage Johnny Depp?

If you have never seen this classic John Waters film... go watch it now!
Then you too will long for the days of Elvis, James Dean, drive-ins and leather jackets.
Note: Not suitable for children, mother.

diggin it...

These "Stamps of Disapproval" by Heather K. Phillips, make the hard truth a little easier to take...maybe.

Many papers have come across my desk that deserved one of these markings... maybe even a few foreheads.

Last night TK and I (plus kalea) went to see Going the Distance. Do I need to remind you about me and Drew? It is about a couple Erin (barrymore) and Garrit (Long) in a long distance relationship. It was super funny and surprisingly real. It took me back to the days when I too was engaging in the dangerous life of a long-distancer with the one and only Mr. H. T. Kim.

It touched on the excitement of reconnecting after months apart, the late night phone calls in different time zones (Thank the heavens we were only one hour a part, half the year), and the desperate moments of frustration when all you want to do is give the person you love a quick hug without having to drop a few Benjamin's to do so.
Half way through the movie I reached over to grab Tk's hand and was reminded of how grateful I am it all worked out : )

Here are a few oldies but goodies from our Love Travelin' days...

Our first "nice picture togther. TK has a camera freezing issue.

These last couple of weeks have been a bit out of whack for me. I am feeling kinda crappy about everything like:
My lack of working out, spending quality time with TK, this blog, My lack of motivation.
I start classes tomorrow and I am really going to focus on getting back on track with everything.
Sometimes it feels hard to get where you want to go... or even know where that is.
A little heavy I suppose... so I will leave you with this for some giggles.
Hot right? yeah.

My Weekend in an Instax...

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

I was trying not to have my Instax posts back to back but I was way pre-occupied with baby cuteness all this week to even this about this here blog.
And, I know... It is Wednesday a little late on the "weekend" part but I had Tuesday off so today sort of felt like Monday so I think it all works out in the end.

Weekend consisted of:

A little thrifting with Madre, Brittany and Livi. My mom was set to go on a Goodwill Saturday tour but I have been under the weather and by the time I woke up I only made it to one. I found some cute sheets for fabric and that's about it... but Liela made out.
* 50% off at goodwill, ever other Saturday.

When I took this picture I was trying to capture the glorious double rainbow in the sky. Obviously, I failed. It was sort of like this guy's

One of us had a Popsicle and needed a bath. Umm hello cutest bather ever!

As you can see some of us were pooped by the end of the weekend.
Puppy brother bonding gets my right in the heart every time.

That was pretty much it. We finished the weekend off with a quiet Sunday watching the Emmy's.

January Jones, better luck next time.
