oh sister...

My baby sister is graduating ( the first of 3) at the end of May. Sometimes it is hard to believe that the once crazy-haired, never puts a shirt on, would not wear a dress to save her life little girl, is now this beautiful (young) woman.

I know there will be some serious tears shed come that graduation ceremony.
Note: All of these gorgeous photos were taken by MissEmily. Her talents do not end with photography, check out her blog!
Thanks Emily!

What a dump

Last night around midnight, while I was getting ready for bed, I attempted to pick up the pajama pants I left on the floor and they were mysteriously stuck to the ground. Apparently, Sal had decided to take a giant poopie on the carpet and cover it up with my shorts. Although I was quite upset with Mr. Poodielove, I do think the deserves credit for his clever attempt to cover up his mess.
* and his cute " I am in trouble. I am sorry" face always gets me and Tk has to force me to stay away from him for a few minutes so he knows he is punished.
I just got out of the shower and in a high maintenance moment, I felt like cleaning up poop stuck to the carpet for only God knows how long would completely ruin my "Fresh and Clean" feeling.
With one quick "Would you please...." Tk was on top of it and scrubbed that stinky pile away.
Sal sat with his head down and would not make eye contact with either one of us while Tk cleaned up.

I love my husband ( and that because I have one, I am not forced to clean up stinky messes when I do not feel like it )

Proper... or not

I have never been too down with wearing sweatpants or "workout clothes" in public. The rolling straight out of bed look just for some reason never appealed to me.
Let me clarify... I roll out of bed 10 minutes before I need to leave the house every morning, but I at least put jeans on. The trend of wearing your tattered, faded Tinkerbell pajamas bottoms just passed right by me.

And just to be clear, it does not make it okay if you are just going to Walmart.
But, these sweatpants from Jcrew are kind of making me re-consider.

I am sticking to my guns about those pajama pants.

An nyoung....

No. The title of this post is not a bunch of random letters. This is how you say Hello in Korean. See my, wonderful, squinty eyed husband is Korean (if you had not already gathered that). He moved to California when he was six years old. Sometimes, Mr. Kim, will tell me stories about what it was like moving to America.

The other night we were talking about getting into better shape and working out. This conversation sparked a memory for him and he told me this little story:

"About a year or so after I moved to California, I was walking home from school and was walking by a mother pushing her small daughter in a stroller. The little girl looked at me and then looked to her mother and said 'Mommy he is reallllyyyyyy fat!' It hurt my feelings and I thought, Is this what Americans are like?"

His story was so sincere.

I laughed and laughed, picturing a young, chubby, TK newly in America and so confused. Then I fell even more in love with that Korean man.

My Sunday Morning

Sleepy husband, sleepy pup, and some quiet time.
(Note: of course I did not just eat milk, there once were some cheerios in there)

I will tell you about those accelerated classes

Friday, April 9, 2010

It is Friday night and I have been sitting in the office, by myself, doing homework since around seven. I stopped for about 40 minutes to eat dinner and then got right back to work.
It feels lame that my husband is sitting in the next room and on a Friday night we are both home in separate rooms not hanging out!
I am taking an accelerated computer class (because I want to get it out of the way and might I add is quite boring!) and each week I am presented with a ton of HW.
I just finished and I am super tired.
Cleaning is on the agenda for tomorrow, because believe me the house needs it, but hopefully we can get a nice date in towards the evening. I need a vacation with my man.

That's the Glory of Love

Last night, in my best Bette Midler voice, I sang " The wind beneath my wings" at the top of my lungs to TK.

He laughed, gave me a hug and said he could not get enough of me.
I think that sentiment may change when I make him watch Beaches with me tonight :)

*I used to watch this movie with my mom as a little girl and it has always been a favorite.
