My weekend in an instant...

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Yay for memorial day and a short work week! I slept a lot this weekend. Like I am not sure I woke up before 11 any day after Friday. I really love sleep so this made me very happy.

Friday I came home and thought about maybe going to a movie with TK when my cousin Gina called and I ended up talking to her for over 3 hours.

*Gina/Brianna Back story*
-She is ten years older than me and pretty much the big sister my mom did not birth for me
-She would spend the night and sneak me out of my bedroom after my bedtime so we could watch music videos on MTV (when they still showed music videos)and dance
-She introduced me to Nirvana. Forever grateful
-She is super awesome

She also lives in some small hick town in Northern California so I don't ever get to see her. She actually called to tell me how much she likes my blog which totally made my day! So here is a shout out for Gina "Hey Girl,Hey!"

Saturday was a pretty big day for me. I rolled out of bed around 11 and watched Bones while re-painting my nails three times. This might seem pretty chill but watching the last episodes of Bones was on my To-Do list so, I felt accomplished.
After I finally took a shower I headed to the nail salon for some eyebrow clean up. I brought Liv with me. She wanted to get her eyebrows done too, for the first time. It was pretty funny as she was flinching the whole way through!

Remember that client party that TK had to go to? I was a good wife and went with him. It was eh, alright. I wore a new dress I got from H&M the other day and I really liked it. perfect for summer.
Photobucket

Later we headed to Emily's for a Memorial Day potluck. Fun as always but I forgot to snap photos.
Photobucket

Sunday I pushed myself to get out of bed early, about 11:00. My cousin Jacquie (who happens to be Gina's sister and is equally as awesome) called me and wanted to hang out. She said she had never been to Smeeks or Frances and I wanted to deprive her of these pleasures no longer so we headed there
Photobucket

We took these photo booth photos. We are pretty lame and did not realize we had four more shots, hence the blanks. Please excuse my Jay Leno chin.
Photobucket

We headed to Two hippies for lunch and had a nice long chat!
Photobucket

Last stop Urban Outfitters where I purchased these and have not taken them off since!
Photobucket

We joined The Haire's for dinner at their neighbors who happen to have an awesome homemade brick oven in their backyard. Seriously some of the best pizza I have ever had.
Photobucket

We left around midnight and the weather was amazing so we invited my sister and cousins over and had an impromptu bonfire.
Photobucket

Monday I felt pretty shitty. I did a whole bunch of laying around in my animal print muu-muu and watched Parenthood at my parents house. I was actually in bed by 10:30. Record breaking.
Photobucket

So I may not have got the important things done from my To-Do list like organizing and what not...but I did get lots of needed rest, and spend time with some of my favorite people... I guess I did get the important things done :)

Announcement...

People,
I have decided to stop being fat.

I will let you know how that goes.

Thanks
Bri.

Emily delivered the above message to me via paper airplane to notify me she was ready to leave the office. There was no hesitation from me...so we bounced.

I had a bit of a difficult week, so the long weekend is much appreciated. I was really looking forward to heading to L.A. this weekend, but Tim is sorta an important person at his office and has to make an "appearance" somewhere, and that is going to keep us in town. I have been kinda homesick for L.A. and my friends so I am a bit disappointed but I am planning on making the most of this weekend. I am planning on doing the following:

- Organizing my closet and bedroom
- Baking tasty treats
- Wearing my new dress
- Party at Emily's Saturday
- Talking TK into going to Ikea
- Finishing up the last few episodes of Bones

Here are some links I enjoyed this week:
Zooey Deschanel has teamed up with her best pals and has put together something super cute, hellogiggles.com

I am loving the sneak peaks of Jenny Gordy's new Wiksten line. Like this and this and this

Dani's tablecloth curtains are so cute and creative!

This site has kept me laughing all week long. My favorite here. Thanks for sharing Em!

This new to me blog is quickly becoming one of my faves. Kate has the prettiest dresses, like this one here.

Funfact- I am sorta in love with Jay-Z. I am digging his new blog and thought this video of his lady was pretty sweet.

I am looking forward to watching this and this. Via CROMEYELLOW.COM

What are your weekend plans? Whatever they may be, hope you have fun!

Happy Friday!

FINAL TK
If you know Tim you know to be weary of how legit his "facts" are. He has entertained us many times with his exclusive information and he has also caused some a bit of confusion. Here is an example of his sources:

BK:I just got an email from Expedia and they have really good deals to New York in the summer. But I hear NY in the summer is not so nice.

TK: New York in the summer is really bad. It is mid 90's and super humid. People rap about it all the time.

I feel bad that I shorted you guys a week of Tim so to make up for it I am throwing in this bonus photo. Enjoy!

*he also has a habit of falling asleep..alot...anywhere.

Hot Killer in Uganda...

I am not sure if any of you who read this blog live in Los Angeles (I am not actually sure anyone reads this blog at all)... But if you do live in Los Angeles you should be having dinner with my bestie tonight here:

Sasha is raising money to attend a trip to Uganda to work with Krotchet Kids Intl. So if you are in the area, stop by for great food and great fun... and let her know I sent you...She looks like this:

Maybe she will give you a hug.

My weekend in an instant...

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

After a very looooong week of work and staying late every night I was happy to get out of the office on time Friday, starting the weekend off right!
Emily and I decided to do a little shopping before heading home and stopped at Anthro and H&M. Both successful stops for me!
We picked up our men and headed to 3rd Friday in downtown PHX. A bit of a bore so we left and ended up at Teakwoods on our side of town. I had never been there and I thought it was pretty cool and very delicious. Especially the soy-garlic-ginger-or-something-like-that edamame. A must try if you visit!

Saturday I woke up with crazy hair, like this:

Photobucket

But then I took a shower and let my hair air dry for a change and ended up with a nice natural wave, like this:

Photobucket

This wave might not seem like a big deal but it is actually sorta hard for me to get my hair to do this. I owe this all to my new hairstylist. His name is Brody. He is nice. Hit him up here.

Most of Saturday we spent at the Mesa Arts Center taking engagement photos for Emily and Pat. I mentioned it before, but I really loved working with Tim on something creative. We had a blast!

Photobucket

I actually do not remember what we did Saturday night so it was probably pretty boring.

Sunday we had a sick pup on our hands. He had been leaving us presents of poop and vomit all over the house throughout the weekend. We had already lost a little rug and a blanket from his generous offerings, so we stayed home pretty much all day to keep an eye on him. We ate popcorn and watched Bones.

Photobucket

Later that night we finally left the house for dinner and when we came home Tim made me brownies to satisfy my once-a-month- chocolate craving. He is pretty much a stud. We ate them while watching Bones. of course.

I ain't no pro...

So you probably don't realize it, since It seems I only ever post pictures from my cell phone, but I actually own a real camera... and a pretty good one at that (canon rebel t2i). I keep trying to get in the habit of using it more regularly since I do not have much practice with it. So I was thrilled when Emily asked me to take engagement pictures for her and her fiance Pat this last Saturday. I was a little nervous since I definitely do not consider myself a photographer, not even aspiring, but overall I was pretty pleased with the outcome. More importantly Emily and Pat really liked them and that's all that really matters! Here are some of my faves:

Emily and Pat are such an easy going, loving couple so taking these photos was so much fun! Tim came along for the ride and brought our other camera (Olympus E-PL1) to snap some candids. I personally love this little camera and recommend it to anyone who is looking for something sort of in between a small point and shoot and a big DSLR. There are lots of cool art features pre-set on the camera and Tim really loves to use them. Here are a few he took and I really like them. (It was also so fun doing something creative with TK!)

and to the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Haire...thanks for letting us come along and capture this special time for you! We wish you many, many years of blessings and happiness... congrats!

Lunch Time...

Thursday, May 19, 2011

Not much happens out this way where I work (North Scottsdale) so I got kinda excited when I read on twitter that there would be an outdoor food court today at the Whole Foods down the street with some of the best Phoenix Food Trucks. I had been wanting to try Short Leash Hot dogs since I heard about it awhile back...Gourmet hot dogs with a ton of different toppings, served on pita bread? Yes please!

Photobucket
Photobucket

I ordered the Moki Dog-
Veggie Dog with green chillies, pinto beans, and cheese (minus the standard onions)
Photobucket

Topped off with a Vanilla Creme and it certainly did not disappoint!

Photobucket

Emily got the "Dog of the week" with blue cheese (yuck!) sauteed onions (double yuck!) mushrooms (bleh!) and bacon... she loved it!

Photobucket

Clearly we were pretty excited about it all

Photobucket
Photobucket

Even though we were stuffed beyond belief, the wonderful lady from Carte Blanche-Gourmet Tacos offered us a free Portabello Mushroom Taco.

Photobucket

I passed (see above comment on mushrooms) but Emily gladly accepted and loved it!

Photobucket

Before leaving, a lady by the trash can gave us coupons for free sunblock from whole foods so we stopped in and picked it up.

Yummy hot dogs, creme soda, great company, free stuff= probably the best lunch I have ever had during a work day!

I saw a (double) rainbow

and ate a really small hamburger and a really large grapefruit.

What did your day look like?

My weekend in an instax...

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

I feel like this weekend was super fun and super lazy. pretty much perfect!

Friday was such a good night but I was not so good at taking pictures. We went to see Bridesmaids with Emily and Pat and her sister and brother in law. FUNNIEST movie I have seen in a long time! a must watch!
Afterwards we did not know where to go so we just headed over to Applebees, which was also a good time. Except for our super invasive server:

Server Lady: okay thanks for coming in guys. By the way does my eye look red to you? I have been rubbing it all day and it is really bothering me.

Pat:umm no.

Server Lady
::leans further into the table so Emily can take a look:: do you see any red?

Emily: Umm no looks fine to me.

In Bri's mind: Wow thanks for waiting until after you have served us all our food and drinks to point out that you have some weird eye thing going on and that you have been touching our plates with the same hand your rubbing your eye with.

Super irritating to say the least.

Saturday I did pretty much nothing all day. I worked on a Bridesmaids review for CROMEYELLOW for like seven hours.
sorta like this:
-write one sentence, go bug Tim
-write one sentence, watch tv
-write one sentence, play with pups
-write one sentence, eat
-write one sentence, listen to music
and over again all day.
*Check out the review here!

Around 8 we finally left the house. Tim has been begging and pleading me to go to Culver's with him so he can try the famous Butter-Burger. I have never liked hamburgers so there was just no draw for me, but since he is such a good husband I gave in. Of course we picked up our little sidekick liv on the way.
Photobucket

We brought home frozen custard from Culver's and rented a movie and chilled the rest of the night. My mini-me:
Photobucket

Sunday was Emily's bridal shower. yay Emily is getting married! It was a lovely little get together with some very fine ladies and Emily looked adorable!
Photobucket

When I got home Tim had apparently purchased a large amount of pineapple so we cut some up and took it to my parents house for a little treat. Tim took me to Haru later that night cause I have been dying for some sushi.
Photobucket

Then we came home and watched Bones.
