I don't drink alchohol. Any kind really. I have an allergic reaction when I do and it is quite uncomfortable. I don't think anyone understands just how uncomfortable it is because they are always trying to get me to drink and "get use to it" haha. Mostly this person, but I love her.
Anyhow, Tim can drink like a normal person and I always feel bad that I cannot enjoy a drink with him every now and then. He very sweetly went and purchased me a six pack of root beer so I could hold a bottle and play the part.

Its the little things I tell you...
Then today I get this:
TK- you look very nice today Bri, very homely
BK- What?

This weekend was a good mix of eventful and lazy. Friday I was pretty beat from the show the night before. Sad, I know. We went to the mall because I thought I wanted to shop, but I was wrong and Tim was happy. We ended up at home pretty early and watched Bones all night. We are obsessed with Bones.

Saturday was the Az Blogger Meet Up. I was a bit nervous to go since I did not really know anyone and I was glad to have Emily by my side for the day events. It turned out really well and I really enjoyed exploring downtown phoenix, vintage shopping and meeting a lot of great blogger girls. The dinner at La Bocca was a lot of fun and I won a 25.00 gift card to GrowOp. Score!

Sunday was a lazy day. I suppose I was super beat from all the great events on Saturday that I got out of bed, laid on the couch and went back to sleep. Tim, being the good husband he is, cleaned the backyard so it would be ready for the baby shower we are having this weekend. I intended to help him but bribed him with video games and trips to Costco if he would let me off the hook. I have no shame. We ended the weekend with a dinner date and a trip to the movies to watch Suckerpunch (What did I think of it... I fully agree with this *great review sal!)

This week...
Sunday, March 27, 2011
Last week I followed this and wrote down my goals for the week. Although I cannot honestly say I followed them 100%, having them jotted down here held me accountable and kept them in my mind. So I thought I might try and make this a regular thing. Here goes this week:
Edit: I just realized I forgot one!
Creativity- Work on decorations for a baby shower I am co-hosting this weekend at my house!

I was reading the paper at work yesterday (I like to read the paper at work, it makes me feel more professional, even if I only read the entertainment section) and saw this:

Dashboard Confessional, what? He is still touring?
Apparently.
It is a celebration tour for the 10th Anniversary of his first record "Swiss Army Romance". I loved that record and it makes me feel old that it came out 10 years ago. Don't try and act like you were not belting out "screaming infidelities" in your youth either. I will not believe it.
*note: a friend of mine for the longest was convinced it was "screaming infertility"
I called my sister up to tell her about the show... because she stole my CD once when she was little and fell in love with Dashboard and would play it on repeat all day and it was super annoying. But it could be worse. Like Justin Bieber I suppose.
Anyhow,we have not seen each other for awhile so we decided to go and celebrate with Chris...
He still sounds great and I still know every word and it was fun thinking about where I was 10 years ago when it all came about.
One thing for sure, 10 years ago I did not have to take a nap before going out on a school night. Pathetic.
We sang super loud together and I lost my voice a bit, alcohol was spilled on my feet three times and by 10:30 I was yawning and reminded of why I don't do this too often anymore.
But it was great fun spending time with my sister and watching that adorable tiny man perform.
Hands down. haha I had to.
P.S. I also ran into Danielle from Sometimes Sweet, and of course she was so sweet!

Sunday we spent the day with my sisters and went to see the AMOCOCO exhibit at the Mesa Arts Center.
AMOCOCO is an inflatable luminarium filled with lights and sounds and air. My description does not really do it justice.
Even though it is basically a big colorful balloom it was actually quite fun and the girls really enjoyed walking around for awhile in such a visually appealing space.
Unfortunately, I assumed photography would be off limits and I left my camera at home.
I at least got a few good ones on my phone...

It was nice to spend some time with them... I love those stinkers :)

Notice that slight change in title there, huh? yeah whatevs...
Anywhoo. This weekend we got an unexpected visit from Tims dad who lives in California. Literally, it was like
Thursday Night:
Dad- Tim, I am coming to visit
Tk- Awesome! When?
Dad- Tomorrow!
So other than the rushed thursday all night clean fest to make our home suitable, it was great!
(In all honesty, I did not clean at all. I have been dealing with a massive kink in my neck which is causing some serious pain, so while I went to get a massage to try and take care of this thing TK and my darling, sweet sister Olivia stepped in and cleaned the whole house. I am seriously so blessed. Thanks guys!)
It turned out to be a nice relaxing weekend, just spending some quality family time. TK was really happy his dad was here and that made me really happy :)

5.pup treats 6.bday owl 7.artweave@ 8.amococo-more on this later!
My long list of errands still stands incomplete, but it was definitely worth it :)
1 down, 6 to go...
My head has been all over the place as of late and it seems like I am adding more stuff to my to-do list by the minute both at the office and at home...
So I thought I would take a queue from Danielle and write down five "Better Myself" goals to keep myself mentally on track this week and feeling good/better. I think she is pretty spot on with the areas I would like to focus on. Thanks Danielle!
Here it goes...
[Nutrition] track all meals and get back in the game with WW
[Exercise] one hour workout at least four times this week
[Relationships]disconnect at a decent hour (from tv,computer, phone) to spend more quality time with TK
[Creativity] catch up on all my Indie Biz 3.0 homework. Creativity was the whole point of the class right?
[Me-time] actually taking a lunch at work and finally finishing this book after months of one page here and there

Dear Hailee,
First off, let me congratulate you on your Oscar nom! I have yet to see true grit but I hear you were phenomenal. You go girl! It's no biggie you did not win... you have many years ahead of you. That is sort of what I wanted to talk about. You seem like a sweet kid. You carry yourself with class and I commend you on your age appropriate wardrobe and make up choices. By the way, you nailed it with that Oscar dress. a gem. truly.

But here is the thing, your just 14. You are an actress. You live in LA (I'm assuming)...sort of a recipe for disaster. I am no celebrity, but I can imagine the obligations and responsibilities of this job could cause a bit of stress. And at your age, whew! even tougher! But I believe in you Hailee... I think you got what it takes to be successful and survive! You got a long career ahead of you, so just remember:
- If you want to "Win" stay far away from Charlie Sheen
- It does not matter what you are "technically" smoking... bong hits never look good.
- Disney is cursed... Don't sign that contract!
- and please don't start a band and end up like this:

Best of luck to you kid!
P.S. Dear Taylor Momsens mother... major fail.

My weekend in a (fake) instax...
Monday, March 14, 2011
This last week Tim's darling grandmother passed away so we made an unexpected trip to California to attend her funeral and celebrate her life. Even though I did not speak her language, it was well understood how much love she had for her family and I am blessed to have been a part of it these last few years.
Although our trip was about a bit of sadness, there was also a lot of happy too.
Quality time spent with friends and family makes everything better =>
(TK's phone was stolen -lame- but we got neat new phones-yay. The camera features are fun and it beats lugging around my somewhat giant instax. Because I am super lazy, it will most likely be fake instax from here on out)

This morning I:
-woke up late with intense abdominal discomfort
-found pee in the hallway
-went to the kitchen for cleaning supplies...found poop in the kitchen
-drove to work in major traffic and was super late.
It has just been one of those days so I have had this on repeat (thanks sal!)
because, it really does make it feel like it's summer.
*and even though I am typically not a fan of summer... it is something other than today.
