Cheerio!

Did any of you catch the Royal Wedding this morning? I did not wake up early enough to watch it live but I fo sho watched the taping. I eat stuff like this for breakfast! or while I am eating my breakfast.
Princess Catherine's dress is so elegant and gorgeous. She looked radiant. I think these sorts of events are so fun to gawk at and ooo and ahh and if you are like me, cry a little bit.

What a lovely couple...

I read here that the new husband and wife wrote their own prayer for the ceremony. I think it is beautifully simple and honest and something we all could recite and remind ourselves of daily.

God our Father, we thank you for our families; for the love that we share and for the joy of our marriage.
In the busyness of each day keep our eyes fixed on what is real and important in life and help us to be generous with our time and love and energy.
Strengthened by our union help us to serve and comfort those who suffer. We ask this in the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I am off to California this weekend. Tomorrow is my besties bday and we are watching PRINCE!
Yes that Prince!
Happy weekend to you all!

P.S. Speaking of my Bestie Sasha, she is raising money to attend a trip to Uganda to work with Krotchet Kids Intl. She is selling some pretty rad things that have been donated from her many creative friends. Check it out on her tumblr now! Oh and while you are there, leave her a comment and tell her she needs to post more. Let her know I sent you.

Talks with TK...

While shopping on my lunch, I sent Tim a picture of a shirt I was iffy about...

BRI: Do you like this polka dot shirt?

TK: Well, I would sign on that dotted line!

My Weekend in an Instant...Easter!

My holiday weekend starter pretty early...like Thursday afternoon. I left work early to take Emily to the airport and decided to work the remainder of the day at home.
But since TK works around the corner from the airport, I thought I would have lunch with him first. I love seeing Tim in the middle of the day!
Photobucket

I spent my Friday off doing this, plus watching Tron Legacy with Liv and Costco with my mom.
(Read a review for this movie on CROMEYELLOW plus much more!)
Tim had to work, bummer. But on his way home brought me a sparkling treat!
Photobucket

For dinner my mom made some muy delicioso enchiladas and we watched the Lakers beat New Orleans!
Photobucket

Saturday was spent shopping. First thrifting with my mom and then I took liv to the mall later and bought her a cute Easter dress. I forgot to get a picture dangit!
Photobucket

Our Easter Sunday was quite full. We headed to my Grandma's house with my sisters in the early morning for church and breakfast. She is so darling and I love how excited she is when we attend church with her and she gets to show us all off. She made a quiche, which was my first time having it, and it was super good! She also showed me one of her new crochet projects... such a talented little lady :)
Photobucket

My mom cooked a huge dinner and we had an Easter egg hunt for the "kids", all teenagers haha. I got to spend some time with my beautiful cousin Jacquie who just moved back to Arizona from New Mexico. I love her and I am sooo glad she is back in town!
Photobucket

After dinner we watched the Lakers lose to New Orleans. I guess you win some you lose some...but we are crossing our fingers it is just wins from here on out!
We ended the night watching The Walking Dead, because zombies always lift your spirits right?
Overall I had such a great weekend and a wonderful Easter spending time with my lovely family. I hope your Easter was great as well!

Good Friday...

Friday, April 22, 2011

It is indeed. I have the day off from work. yay! So my sister liv spent the night and we have just been lounging around all day watching movies and working out to this...a serious butt kicker but I highly recommend it!

I originally thought I would spend the day running errands and doing laundry... and although I am majorly running out of things to wear, setting that aside to spend time with my little sister is so worth it :) Now I am off to costco with my mom (not sure how she talked me into that one)

It is has been so warm here lately and I have been missing the beach like crazy (more like California as a whole along with all my lovely friends) but the pool will have to do! so we are off to my parents tonight for swimming and pork enchiladas. my fave!

I am contemplating some sort of yummy treat to make for Easter. Anyone have any ideas? please share!
Have a great weekend :)

My eye on: Vintage Luggage

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Basically, I have a love for all items you can carry stuff in. Be it, a purse, a tote, a carry on bag, a suitcase and so on. It is a little out of hand.
But when it is vintage, it reaches all new levels.
I adore vintage luggage. Every time I am thrifting I have to practice extreme self control to not come home with a whole new set of suitcases and carry ons that I really just do not need. I have though about forgoing the closet and dresser set up and storing all my clothes in old suitcases. I am not sure how practical that would be, but I do know it would be pretty!
I have been searching etsy all day looking for a bday present for a friend and came across these beauties:
luggage collage
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

I think this just means I need to go on more vacations so I have a reason to purchase.
Agreed?
Good. Help me convince TK.

Talks with TK...

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

I am excited to introduce this feature...basically because I think there are things my husband says on the daily that I feel selfish keeping to myself and I feel they must be shared with the world. Tim seriously makes me laugh everyday. Sometimes with him. Sometimes at him. Here I will give you a little peak into my life and conversations with Tk...
Photobucket

one night during a random conversation...

BRI: Wouldn't it suck to be found dead naked. Like if you fell out of the shower?

TK: Yeah. or covered in poop.

My weekend in an instant...

I don't like very much when my "weekend" posts are so close together because it means I have been a bad blogger. I had so many things I intended to blog about this week but I was a bit pre-occupied in my own head, thinking over and over again about seriously life choices I will probably need to make soon. Sometimes it is hard not to get wrapped up in thoughts of the future and it can be scary and overwhelming. This week I am trying to set that aside and remind myself, you cannot plan for everything, it is probably just best to go with what you think is right!

I hope to be introducing some new regular features that I think will be fun and will keep me consistent with my blogging.
Now step aside serious talk...enter the weekend!

After my week of stress full thinking I really needed this fun filled weekend.

My mom and aunt went to see Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks on Friday. What! Legends! It was entirely last minute, like a few hours before the show. My mom begged me to go but my aunt had already purchased the tickets and could not get me one in their area. Owell. I decided to meet them for dinner before the show anyhow and that was lots of fun. No pictures though so umm... moving on!

Saturday Tim ran a bunch of errands and I laid around and had a lazy afternoon and watched this for the first time
Photobucket

That evening we met up with Emily and Pat for dinner at Latitude 8 in downtown chandler, one of our faves.

Photobucket
*note:I would like to thank my sister in law Debbie for pushing me into the world of lipstick. I could never do it without you debs.

Tim and Pat had yet to meet and I think they hit it off! Yay to new friends :)
Photobucket
*sorry for these crappy photos!

My grandma loves to find free events to go to so on Sunday she came over and I took her and my sisters to an Asian festival in mesa. We have been to better free festivals but it was a good time and I love hanging with my adorable little grams.
Photobucket

We ended the weekend with a lovely husband/wife dinner date at Oregano's. This weekend was just busy enough to keep my mind free of worry but also not too occupied to cause stress. Perfect! Wishing a great week to you all :)

P.S. our pups have had bad diarrhea since last week and it has finally cleared up! This is really starting our week off in a good way, because surprise pup poop on your bed is no bueno.

Spectacles...

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

I am in need of new glasses. I only wear the ones I have at night, before bed because the prescription is bad. Once in a meeting at work, I was reading off a name from the overhead projector and I said "The participants name is Sean Sean?" it was not, I just could not see, so everyone laughed. Maybe that does not seem like such a funny story but we do not have much fun at work, so you know, we take what we can get.

So I have been searching around for awhile and I compiled a list of my faves:

Via Spexclub
Photobucket
1.2.3.

Via Warby Parker
Photobucket
1.2.3.

And just when I thought I had narrowed down my choices, although six pairs might not seem so narrow, Heart Charlie went and posted her adorable new specs...
Photobucket

So I am at a total toss up! Leave me a comment and help me choose or I may end up like this again...
Photobucket

Are you a four eyes? Where do you buy glasses from?

My weekend in an instant...

Monday, April 11, 2011

I wanted to post this last night but I crashed on the couch and now I cannot sleep. See how badly I fail at that "me-time" goal? It is not entirely my fault. I had an unexpected guest named Allergies drop by. I told him Zyrtec was for dinner but he did not get the hint and stuck around for awhile. Owell... On to the photos!

As I have mentioned a zillion times by now our besties Ryan and Debbie (who also happens to be Tim's sister) were in town this weekend. We visit them quite often in H-wood so it is nice when they come to our town for a visit. A lot of the time when we see each other there is something going on... A funeral, a wedding, a birthday ... so it it is nice when we just get the opportunity to chill and spend time with each other.
They arrived late Thursday so TK and I took Friday off from work. yay! that already makes everything great!

Photobucket
Friday was super chill. We went to Scottsdale Fashion to do a little shopping and to try Five Guys. I do not eat hamburgers simply because they are gross but the overall concensus was... Delish!

Photobucket
I ran into Kristen and Courtney, two new blog friends from the blogger meet up at Anthro! super score! It was great to see them again even if only for a few minutes. I cannot wait to meet up with all the girls again sometime soon :)

Photobucket
After the mall we made a stop at Sprinkles Cupcakes. I have never been and I thought it was eh just alright. But I mean who passes up a cupcake?
Photobucket

Saturday I wanted to take everyone around Phoenix and share with them all the great places I found out about during the blogger meet up, but unfortunately it was raining pretty much all day so our plans got rained on haha. I know. hush. whatevs.
Photobucket
We grabbed lunch at a local place in Chandler that is always super goooood and then I got word that my cousins baby just arrived so we rushed to the hospital!
Photobucket

World, welcome Lily-Tulie Jade Aliffua. She is an adorable bundle of joy!
(Not to mention she shares a middle name with like a super awesome amazing person, wink)

Photobucket
Sunday we ate brunch at Cork, a place TK has been wanting to try for awhile. It was a pretty pricey place and the food was just okay but it came with free mimosas! I tried to drink one and only got about half way through...owell

Photobucket
After lunch we said our goodbyes to The Pattersons and discussed our plans for the rest of the day but we both fell asleep so ended up taking the pups to the park and then coming home and watching Bones, of course.

Overall such a great weekend. It is such a pleasure to have house guests and we miss them already!

P.S. to those that have expressed concern regarding our Bones obsession...don't worry we are getting help. There is a psychologist on the show.

P.S.S. Ryan, along with our good friend Sal,run a site called Cromeyellow. Movies, Music and pretty much all things rad. Check it out!

This week...

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Wow what a great weekend! I love when our besties come to visit and when a newborn baby is thrown into the mix, even better!
(more on that later)

Lately, I have been feeling a bit uncomfortable with myself. Just sluggish, super un-fit and tired all the time. Do you guys ever feel that way?
This week I am hoping to get back on track and I think that will make me feel better.
Here are my goals for this week...

Nutrition- in an effort to save money and get back on the healthy eating train, I am seriously going to try and prepare dinner at home every night this week. seriously, I am.

Exercise- just do it. thanks Nike.

Relationships- hopefully spend some time with my lil' newborn cousin because lovin' on newborn good smelling babies cannot do anything but make you happy and....hopefully meet up with my super awesome cousin who just moved back into town... hit me up jack!

Me-time- I honestly failed miserably at this one last week so I am recycling this goal. Get to bed at a decent hour so I do not feel like a zombie all day long. Is it possible to set your electricity to go out at a certain time? Maybe forced darkness will help put me to bed.

Creativity- organize, organize, organize

Wishing you all a good week!

just sometimes...

A Baby Shower...

Saturday I had the pleasure of co-hosting a Baby Shower at my home with my Mom and Aunt for my cousins wife.
Even though the heat was edging towards 90 all week, it was decided to set up outside and cross our fingers for a nice, maybe even cool, day. We got lucky and even had a breeze!
My backyard has definitely been a neglected space since we purchased this house so I was a little concerned about having it back here. TK did a lot of cleaning up for us and my awesome Mom, party planner extraordinaire, transformed the spot into something super cute and special.
Photobucket
She used a ton of fresh flowers to prepare the centerpieces
Photobucket
They came out so beautiful and the table settings were lovely with vintage plates and napkins and vintage tea cups filled with flowers
Photobucket
It was great to be surrounded by all the wonderful women in my family and some great friends too
Photobucket Photobucket

My aunt put together a great selection of games and everyone had fun participating.
My fave... pin the bottle on the mouth!
Photobucket

Can you believe all these presents?! This baby has everything she needs for her arrival. The Mama was experiencing some contractions but was so calm and collected through the whole shower... what a trooper!
Photobucket

I love how bright eyed she looks here and isn't that cake so pretty!
Lilies for Lily :)
Photobucket

I forgot to get a picture of the cake pops I made but from the looks of it here, I think everyone enjoyed them!
Photobucket

I love this picture of the excited grandparents and auntie-to be
Photobucket

The shower turned out great and I was so happy to have hosted it at my house. I love having a home that we can open to our family and friends to enjoy with us and I hope to celebrate many more happy occasions to come!

My weekend in an Instant...
